So I survived. I totally knew I could do it. No doubt in my mind.
Ok I’m lying. I was scared out of my mind, but I completed it and I got my medal and my t-shirt.
My friend and I are planning on making this a yearly thing so I’m going to start hitting the gym extra hard. I need to prepare my body for bikini season anyway.
If you want to participate in the race I strongly suggest training before hand. I completed the Spartan Sprint, which is 3 miles and 15 obstacles. Make sure you can lift your own weight. It isn’t necessary but that is what I noticed from the obstacles. There’s a lot of lifting involved and some obstacles require carrying heavy objects. You definitely use your arms a lot during the entire race. I must say that I did expect to run a lot more than we did. There were a lot more obstacles than I thought, which, to me, was a good thing. Running three miles was what I was afraid of because I didn’t know how I was going to catch my breath before an obstacle.
Overall it was an awesome experience. I finished in an hour and 39 minutes. Next year I’m aiming to complete the race in under an hour.
